TDS Combines: Baltimore/DC Best XI Boys
Top programs were represented on the boy’s side at our first annual Baltimore/DC combine at Prince George’s Community College in Largo, MD. Players showed their skill through the small sided/technical games and in the full field scrimmages. Top college programs saw some great players, including these Best XI players-
Chris DeMartino- Baltimore Celtic- Defense- 2016- DeMartino was one of the most versatile players at the combine. He is naturally an outside defender, but was more than confident when slotted in to center back and midfield positions. He is good in the air and has a great soccer brain.
Jorge Tello- Baltimore Celtic- Defense- Tello is a very physical defender. Throughout the combine, he went in to every tackle with conviction and strength. Tello is smart in every facet of the game and has great communication skills which he uses to control his team.
Lance Ksiazek- Kirkwood SC- Defender- 2016- Ksiazek is a fearless defender who is always willing and able to get stuck in. He consistently wins headers and 1 on 1 situations. He has a very solid 1st touch and keeps things simple. He can slot in to either the right or left channels.
Tim Figueroa- Defender- Figueroa is a very intelligent player who seems to always be a few steps ahead. He is strong in the air and uses his speed well. His best trait may be his willingness to get forward to support the attack without shirking his defensive responsibilities.
Ashley Sibisi- Midfield- Sibisi has the physical attributes to excel at any level. Not only does he have the touch and strength to control the center of midfield, he also has great pace and a vicious strike on the ball. During the combine, he scored a great goal and was a constant menace going forward.
Eric Valentine Calvillo- Prince William Courage- Midfield- 2018- Calvillo was the stand out player from the combine as he constantly performed well during technical training and bossed the midfield during full field games. His work rate offensively was unmatched. To cap of his day, Eric finished a flowing move by smashing a strike perfectly in the bottom corner.
Ian Davies- Midfield- Penn Fusion- Davies is the definition of a midfield general, cut from the mold of players such as Michel Essien and Gennaro Gattuso. He is very talkative and has a great work rate. He is calm on the ball and keeps possession well. He is a great link between defense and midfield, but showed his quality going forward with a defense splitting assist in his 2ndfull field scrimmage.
Ramon Gallegos- Penn Fusion Elite- Midfield- 2017- Gallegos is an out and out winger that every team covets. He has excellent speed but actually gets faster with the ball at his feet. Opposing defenders do not stand a chance when Gallegos is in full flight. He is comfortable on either foot and is a true box to box outside midfielder.
Danny Hart- Baltimore Celtic- Forward- Hart is a very crafty forward who is a constant menace for any defensive line. He has great straight line speed and is very inventive in tight situations. He uses his body well and has the potential to become a very good player at the next level.
Ali Khatoun- International SC (OH)- Forward/Midfield- 2016- Khatoun was a constant threat going forward. He is very confident on the ball and has a great ability to make his teammates better. Primarily left footed, Khatoun is a great option up top or in midfield roles. He has good speed, solid touch and great communication skills.
Quantrell Jones- Baltimore Celtic- Goalkeeper- 2018- Jones has the all the qualities to become an incredible keeper. He has imposing size, especially for his age. He is an imposing figure who is very aggressive in coming off the line. Jones has good hands and an impressive spring to his jump. Oh, and he is very confident on the ball as well.
